Your voice makes it easier to tolerate the truth.” Geum-Jin stepped closer, the steam of his breath warming her nose. “It’s not always good to hear the truth,” she said with a sad smile, looking away as Geum-Jin drew nearer. “People’s truths can be cruel.” “Nothing would be crueler than never hearing your voice again,” he whispered in her ear. Jung-Soon blushed and met Geum-Jin’s eyes. There, she saw herself reflected in his truth.
